Many athletes use tape or a brace to prevent ankle injuries. The EXO-L external ankle brace, an innovation developed by Delft University of Technology and Erasmus MC, offers a new solution.
The EXO-L is the result of research conducted by Marcel Fleuren at Delft University of Technology. Fleuren took a fresh perspective on the longstanding problem of ankle sprains. His invention specifically supports the ligament that is most commonly damaged in an ankle sprain: the anterior talofibular ligament.

Since its launch the EXO-L Ankle Brace is recognised by numerous sports associations, including the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB). As it was developed based on medical research and under the guidance of medical specialists, is is also recommended by medical professionals.
In 2014, EXO-L won the Dutch Association for Physiotherapy (KNGF) physiotherapy award. KNGF stated about the EXO-L Ankle Brace: "It is a tremendous improvement for people with weak ankles and serves as an example for the vitality of the physiotherapy world."
